Bedrace for Bridging 2009
Columns Resource Group is once again sponsoring this year’s Bedrace for Bridging at Buck Hill in Burnsville, MN. Volunteers from CRG will be providing s’mores to all the racers, as well as sponsoring their own teams to race down the tubing hill on mattresses. 100% of funds raised during this event benefit Bridging Inc. Bridging Inc. provides beds and other furniture free of charge to families in need. For more information on this organization, visit their website www.bridging.org.

Derek Tamm, Managing Director receives Community Service Award
Derek Tamm, Managing Director of the St. Cloud, MN District Office of The Columns Resource Group, is a leader in efforts to build a new field for Miracle League of Central Minnesota. Derek has worked hard to raise funds, materials, and service donations from the St. Cloud community to make this possible.

For his work on behalf of Miracle League, Northwestern Mutual recognized and honored Derek with a $10,000 grant for Miracle League of Central Minnesota.

"At Northwestern Mutual we believe being a responsible corporate citizen includes giving back to the communities where we do business," said Ed Zore, president and chief executive officer of Northwestern Mutual. "Our Community Service Award program helps us achieve two goals. We recognize our representatives for their community involvement and we help improve the quality of life in the communities our representatives serve."

Carlson School of Management – University of Minnesota
The Columns Resource Group is proud to be a partner in the growth and expansion of one of their community’s biggest campuses and one of the nation’s top business schools. Their $125,000 sponsorship of the Carlson School of Management – University of MN helps to deepen the impact they are already making with many alumni participating in volunteer mentoring and educational opportunities. The Grand Opening of the new Hanson Hall addition will be held September 25th at the Carlson School on the University of Minnesota campus.

The Columns Resource Group Undergraduate Scholarship has also been created, which will be awarded every year to an incoming freshman. The promising recipient of this scholarship must have demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as a need for financial assistance to pursue their academic ambitions. The Columns Resource Group is excited to have the opportunity to help deserving young people with the chance at a world class business education.
